Resolutions on New Year's

Ohhhh the good ol' make the new year's resolution and see how long it'll last' is fast approaching. Like honestly where did 2014 go? I think I was stuck between June and July then it rapidly fast forward to the end of December... The typical resolutions, are bound to come out again this year coming (I will loose weight, fall in love or travel more), but I think we should change our mindset on these goals for the new year. We should take a closer look into our daily life and make realistic resolutions for ourselves. With that being said, I thought to compile a list for anyone to choose from:

1. Cross something off your bucket list. Sky dive, bungee jump, scuba dive.. Pinpoint what you can do and just do it.

2. Appreciate what you have before you ask for more. Because there is always someone worse off than you.

3. Take care of your body. This doesn't mean you have to beat yourself up for skipping the gym, because your exterior will never define your interior. But never forget your soul is what keeps you going, not your body.

4. Be gracious. Be humble. Be kind.

5. Don’t give money, give your time. There is no greater gift than your time. Volunteer is the best way to help people, to connect with people on a deeper level is to show them that you care.

6. Travel and/or leave the country. If you don’t have money, look into doing charity work abroad. Some programs could sponsor you.

7. Keep a journal. Sometimes the best way to clear your mind and keep a clear vision is to jot down your thoughts at the end of the day or week. What you did, who'd you meet, how you felt, and what was on your mind.

8. Turn your phone off/ put it in the middle of the table at dinner or lunch. Enjoy the conversation, the food and your surroundings. (My sister and I do this most of the time and whoever touched their phone had to pay for the bill), intentionally for you and your friends/ family.

9. If you dislike the job you have now, quit. But make sure you have a good enough reason and another job lined up.

10. ...and of course, fall in love.
